Yesterday I mentioned the 3 stages of hair growth . Today I will cover the Anagen phase of hair growth.
The Anagen phase is the growing phase of the hair follicle. The hair growth can begin after a previous hair has shed after finishing its growth cycle. The hair starts to grow, strengthens and moves deeper into the skin. This is what forms the bulb like shape at the base of the follicle. It’s inside this deeply rooted follicle that the new hair starts and continues to grow.
If the old hair has not fully shed, the new hair will push it out as it begins to grow.
When the hair grown beyond the surface of the skin it then normall continues to grow at approx 1/2 inch per month. The anagen phase usually lasts from 4 year to 6 years.
